A recent survey ranked the 25 safest cities in Colorado with a population above 21,000. Colorado Springs ranked number 20 on the list, one spot above Denver.
Thornton was first on the list with an overall safety score of 88.45.
The study conducted by safehome.org took into account the cities population, citizen-to-officer ratio, and crime trends.
The study also states that overall Colorado is known for lower crime rates on a national scale.

Overall Colorado Springs had a score of 70.24 with the number of violent crimes placing at 4,599 and property crimes at 24,089. The study found the citizen-to-officer ratio to be 392.
The number one placeholder, Thornton had 325 violent crimes and a reported citizen-to-officer ratio of 566.
